1 Timothy 2:1-2
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all those who are in authority, in order that we might live a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and dignity.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We pray for all people; we petition you to send workers out to share your word and teach it in its truth and purity. Please change the hearts of those around us so they will trust you and your Son.
Faith begins with knowing one’s sins. It recognizes when we do not love You as You have directed us in Your Word, when we chase after the feelings of our flesh, and when we don’t love others as we love ourselves. Only then can we ask for forgiveness for our sins, knowing and trusting that Jesus has forgiven all our sins when he went to the cross. The world continues to confuse the difference between loving and condoning, so we pray for them.
We pray for all the world’s leaders, especially our own leadership; please give them discernment to know and carry out your will. When they refuse, please bend them according to what you would have them accomplish.
We pray for quiet and peaceful lives in which our focus is not on this world but our salvation. Please grant us peace that comes only through the forgiveness Jesus won on the cross for us. Through his holy life, innocent suffering, and death, grant us peace, knowing that we are restored to you by faith alone in Christ. Amen.

Prayer demonstrates and results from your faith, showing how much you need God. God responds by answering those prayers as best for your salvation.
