Isaiah 6:3

“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Armies! The whole earth is full of his glory!”

Dear Heavenly Father,

We live in a world that constantly comes after us and wants to destroy us; it is anything but holy. It chases after its desires and does whatever feels suitable for itself at the expense of those around it. People take advantage of others because they are younger or weaker; we might wonder why these things happen—the answer is sinful people with sinful desires in a wicked world.

However, you do not leave victims alone; throughout your word, you have promised to hear those who cry out when abused. When the world is loveless, no matter where we are, you provide your love of forgiveness. Your glory fills the earth, and Jesus suffered for all sins—even when a victim feels shame or guilt about what others have done to them. Your love is there for them. No sin is left unforgiven; in Jesus’ death, your glory—your love and mercy—are revealed. For those who believe in you, you have brought them into your family of believers; this is their new identity, and you have promised to work all things for good for those who love you, and it is by faith that we hold on to your promises even when one cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel.

We ask for your glory to go out to all those who suffer at the hands of others. Spark faith in them to know Jesus and reveal your glory to them; let them get their identity from the love you have given them. Change hearts to know your love and mercy. It was in Jesus’ suffering and death that his glory was revealed to us; let us know and trust in his glory.

Send your spirit to strengthen the faith of those suffering still from nightmares of their past. Let them know you and your glory so that all might sing with the Seraphim, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Armies!” Amen.

God’s glory is revealed in his plan to save you. He sent his Son to redeem you and the Holy Spirit to begin faith in you. So that by believing him, his holiness—his perfect love for you—is revealed.
