2 Corinthians 13:14
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
Dear Heavenly Father,
These words contain such tremendous blessings.
“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ”—Grace is often explained as God’s riches at Christ’s expense. You gave your Son to save us from this world. Which wants to destroy us, but Jesus came, lived the perfect life in our place, and then suffered and died on the cross for all our sins. Christ was the chosen one sent to redeem people from their sins, and we can lean on him when times are bad, knowing he will also deliver us from our troubles and, at our end, take us from this vale of tears in which we now live.
“The love of God”—perhaps we do not think about this enough. The world is loveless, and people do things that harm us. However, you provide us with the way out. You send others into our lives to help us along the way and sustain us in our needs, taking care of our sufferings. We consider those around us service members who still suffer the remnants of war or first responders who are on the front lines at home dealing with injuries and people’s lovelessness. Assure them of your love for them, wipe their tears, and hold them close. Wrap them in your love so they know you are their heavenly Father and your concern for them.
“The Fellowship of the Spirit”—Fellowship is being brought into your family by faith. Believing and trusting in the forgiveness Jesus has won for us on the cross unites all believers. We are all united by faith, side by side, standing with one another so that when there are problems and challenges, we are not alone but have one another, and by faith, we have you. Being one with you by faith, you will care for our bodies and souls and provide us with loving fellow believers and friends around us. They are all part of your loving family; we have become heirs of heaven.
Grace, love, and fellowship are for all people; as Paul wrote, “Be with you all.” They are for all people and delivered by faith. Allow us to share these words with those around us so they might know, trust, and believe your words, being united in salvation and eternal life. Amen.
