Psalm 90:1-2
Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born, before you gave birth to the earth and the world, from eternity to eternity you are God.
Dear Heavenly Father,
The Psalm of Moses reminds us of how you remained alongside the Children of Israel while they were held against their will in Egypt. They went to Egypt when you sent Joseph to provide for Abraham’s descendants, as the great famine went across all the lands. When the time was right, you sent Moses and Aaron to lead your people out of Egypt to the Promised Land. You never abandoned them; even though they often complained and spoke against you, you would forgive and restore them to you through your mercy.
For those who believe and trust in you, you are their dwelling place, and like the Israelites, you restore and protect us. Lord, you know us intimately and already knew us before you formed the earth. You also knew how great our necessity was to be saved from our sins, for each time we complain against you—you sent us your Son. He has led us out of sin’s captivity and redeemed us by his life, death, and resurrection. We are restored to You by faith in him, and then we are united to You; we have the promise of salvation and eternal life that is ours because You love us and want us to be in heaven with You.
Let our reaction to your love be to trust you entirely for our salvation and then share the dwelling place you give us with those who do not know you; let us share this with all we meet today. Please let faith begin in them so they will be saved and have eternal life. Amen.

God has known you from eternity, and he loves you. He wants you to be with him for the rest of eternity, so Jesus came to forgive you all your sins, and the Holy Spirit was sent to begin faith in you.
