Time for Grace – October 14, 2025

Psalm 121

I lift up my eyes to the mountains. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot stumble. He who watches over you will not slumber. Yes, he who watches over Israel will not slumber. He will not sleep. The Lord watches over you. The Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun will not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord will watch to keep you from all harm. He will watch over your life. The Lord will watch over your going and your coming from now to eternity.

Applying God’s Word for today: We Receive Our Assurance from the Lord

We live in a world where the forces of evil still threaten us, and we can become overconfident, unaware of their desire to destroy us. Our true help comes from the Lord. God is not just a made-up entity of people’s thoughts; He is real, having spoken to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, and the prophets; then, in the New Testament, Jesus lived among us. Today, God still watches over the entire earth, even those who reject His love.

God set limits on every challenge we face. Although we might question His involvement, thinking He will just do His will no matter what, God allows us to live our lives and supports us in ways that lead to our salvation. By lifting our eyes to Him, we see that our help truly comes from the Lord.

God the Father sent His Son to climb Mount Calvary and be nailed to the cross for our sins. Through faith in Jesus, we receive true peace through forgiveness and the hope of heaven. The assurance of salvation rests on the fact that God, who gave His only Son to save us, will stay with us until the end. He supports us when we stumble and is always watchful, day and night, never sleeping.

So, listen and be filled with God’s Word. Only through His Word do we trust in His love and mercy. Our faith is meant to be shared, so share God’s love with someone who does not know or trust in Him. May His Word bring about a change in their hearts to believe.

Dear Lord, thank You for the protection You provide us, so that we can trust that even in the worst situations, You still work all things for our salvational good. Thank You for the love You have given us, forgive us and sustain us according to Your holy will. In Your Son’s Holy name. Amen.

Be confident in the one who created this world out of nothing and secured your salvation through the death of His Son for all our sins. He has given you salvation and eternal life through faith in Jesus.
