Applying this today, true understanding comes solely from God’s Word.
Just as a door opening in the morning floods a dark room with light, waking up can be difficult as your eyes adjust. As the light floods in, clarity emerges—much like hearing God’s Word brings clarity. In God’s Word, light overcomes darkness, and God’s love overcomes the depravity of our sins.
Humans naturally seek to understand their environment—asking why things happen, where they originate, and who is behind it all. The world speculates, but such explanations always fall short and contradict natural laws. When we turn to God’s Word, His light explains everything: why He created the universe, how He did so from nothing, and that He is responsible for all. God created everything out of love, desiring that we be with Him forever in heaven. He sent His Son to restore us after our fall into sin. Jesus took our sins into Himself, suffered and died on the cross for them, and rose again so that all who believe—through simple faith in Christ—can be saved and receive eternal life. God’s love seeks to forgive sinners and unite us with Him forever. His Word provides the understanding we seek about our world and our Creator.
Dear Lord, thank You for illuminating us with Your Word, allowing us to claim the promise of salvation through faith in Christ. You have opened heaven’s door through Your plan and forgiveness of sins. Help us share this good news with those lacking understanding, so they too can experience forgiveness and peace through faith in Jesus. Amen.
God reveals Himself through His Word, where we come to trust His love for us. May the peace of forgiveness govern your life in everything you do.
