Psalm 69:13
But I direct my prayer to you, O Lord, for a time of favor. God, in the greatness of your mercy, answer me with the certainty of salvation from you.
Applying God’s Word for Today: When all else fails, pray!
As humans, we often find ourselves a mess. We tend to handle issues alone, and when frustration arises because things aren’t going as planned, we eventually kneel, bow our heads, and pray. God not only invites us to pray but also guides us in doing so. Prayer demonstrates our faith in Him. During uncertain times, we turn to the Lord; in struggles, we seek Him; when blessed, we thank Him; and in both prosperity and adversity, we thank the Lord. You might wonder: why thank God for difficulties? Because God allows and limits struggles in ways we may never fully grasp. Sometimes, they are meant to bring us back to Him. Other times, they serve someone we’ll never meet. Observing our faith and actions, they see our trust, and through our witness, we share the good news of God’s love, offering a gentle reminder that may help them to stop rejecting His love.
We might ask ourselves: what is the purpose of life? It is to be with God in heaven forever. God has given us forgiveness for all our sins through His Son, who suffered on the cross for us. We are saved through faith, so when your faith is tested by a small challenge that feels like a big one, remember it is out of God’s love because you likely needed it. Cling to God’s mercy, because in His love you don’t get the punishment you deserve but instead receive Jesus’ righteousness, which you don’t deserve. Additionally, in God’s love, He has redeemed you so you can enjoy the salvation that comes through faith in Jesus.
Dear Lord God, you are always more ready to hear our prayers than we are to pray. We place all our cares and concerns before you and thank you for loving us so much that you allow challenges to come our way. Forgive us for Jesus’ sake and give us assurance of our salvation. In the name of our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Sometimes a shift in perspective can help you see your situation with more hope. Remember that God’s love is always with you, lifting you through every challenge. Share God’s love and forgiveness with someone who is also struggling, and pray together for strength and comfort.
