Romans 8:14-17
Indeed, those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery so that you are afraid again, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we call out, “Abba, Father!” The Spirit himself joins our spirit in testifying that we are God’s children. Now, if we are children, we are also heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, since we suffer with him, so that we may also be glorified with him.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Throughout your ministry, you promised to send your Holy Spirit, and he has led us to you. Before he came, we were utterly lost in the darkness of sin’s slavery. Through your word and our baptisms, the Spirit brought us light and has created faith in us, so we are adopted into your family. Through this faith that was started in us by the Spirit, we now know our sins deserve complete separation from the Father. But because of the holy life you lived, we have been given credit for your perfection. Also, your innocent death was the payment of our sins that should separate us from you. However, because we trust what you have done for us, we are adopted into your family, and you are our brother. As Paul has stated in these verses of Romans, we now have the right to call your Father our Father. Because we suffered with you through your suffering and death, we can be confident that we will also be glorified with you in heaven. Amen.

When we compare our troubles of this life to eternity, we will soon face they really seem insignificant.
