Isaiah 42:5-7
This is what the true God says, the Lord who creates the heavens and stretches them out, who spreads out the earth and everything that it produces, who gives breath to the people on it and life to those who walk on it. I am the Lord. I have called you in righteousness. I will hold on to your hand, and I will guard you. I will appoint you to be a covenant for the people, to be a light for the nations, to open the eyes of the blind, to bring the prisoners out from the dungeon, and to bring those who sit in darkness out of prison.
Dear Heavenly Father,
It is incredible that you, who created everything around us, the heavens and everything on the earth, would be concerned for us. You are the one who gives us our air to breathe and allows us to walk on this magnificent planet. But all your creation walks in sin because of what we think, say, and do. Everyone is accountable to you for their actions, and on the last day, we will stand before you; anything less than perfect love is worthy of condemnation to hell.
However, that is not where you leave us; you restored our life by sending your Son here to redeem us, giving us his perfection, and you call us righteous. Jesus came and lived the perfect life we could not live and then suffered on the cross for our punishment. This gift of life is for everyone but is received only through faith. Faith is what makes us your people; nothing else qualifies us. This restoration to you is ours through faith alone. Thank you for giving us your word and restoring us by faith in Jesus.
We pray that we, too, would be able to share the good news about our salvation with others who cannot see you, those locked away by their sins and sitting in sin’s darkness. Let us share your word with them so they will be restored to you. We pray for them; please send them your Holy Spirit so that they, too, would trust in Jesus, and please free them from their sins. Unlock their prison cells, bringing them out into the light. Amen.

For all whom God has called righteous, we are a witness to others. We get to share with them the forgiveness Jesus won and how we are restored through God’s mercy and love to salvation and everlasting life.
