Psalm 103:1-5

Bless the Lord, O my soul. All that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits—who pardons all your guilt, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with mercy and compassion, who satisfies your life with goodness, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

Dear Heavenly Father,

When we consider our sinful selves, we realize how unfit we are to come before you. The way we talk to those close to us, the things that we do, and the thoughts we have; all condemn us, but through Jesus, you have restored us. Your plan of salvation was set in place when our first parents fell into sin; for this, we bless you. With every fiber of our bodies, we bless your holy name. We were lost in our sins, and without our Savior, we were on hell’s path to eternal destruction.

We bless you for sending us Jesus; he willingly came to earth and lived a life of perfection—loving you and us perfectly. Then we were credited with his perfection. Jesus went innocently to suffer and die on the cross for all our sins; he pardoned us all so that whoever believes in his forgiveness is given the crown of glory and eternal life. Jesus overcame sin, and through his lifeblood, we are healed; we may not have complete relief now, but we can be confident of the total healing we will have in heaven. Through faith in Christ, heaven is now our home. We pray for strength from you as we continue in this wilderness until we are home.

Father, we pray for those who are around us. If it is your will, provide us with the opportunities to share the good news of Jesus’ holy life and death with those who do not know you so that through this message, they, too, will come to believe in their Savior and bless your holy name. Amen.

When you realize our sins’ devastating effects on us, the fact that we had no way out on our own and that God has saved us through Jesus. How can you not praise him for the miraculous things he has done for you? You are forgiven through faith in Jesus, and heaven is yours.
