Romans 8:26

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we should pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that are not expressed in words.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for sending us your Spirit, especially as the world comes at us, and we do not know what to ask for from you, but in these situations, we realize we must trust in you entirely. So please have your Spirit know what is in our hearts and pray the prayer that must be prayed on our behalf.

It is incredible to see how you care for us, especially when we consider our lives and the ways you restored and sustained us. We were once trapped in our sin with no way out, and you sent your Son to suffer and die for us on the cross, forgiving us of our every sin. We had no idea what to do, but You provided for our salvation and restored us to You through the works of Your Son. Then you sent your Spirit to live in us; he began a faith in us so that whoever believes in Jesus has eternal life. Moreover, whoever believes in Jesus, has the entire Trinity living in them. So keep us steadfast in your word so that when we don’t know what to pray, we have confidence in your Spirit’s intercession.

We pray also for this good news to go out to those who do not know you. Please send your Spirit to those we know in our lives who don’t know you that your Spirit would rest in them and intercede on their behalf when they feel dejected, tired, worn, or when the world comes at them. Amen.

God has created you, redeemed you from your sins, and set you apart as holy. He takes care of every need—mind, body, and soul. So when you are at a loss for words of what to ask, he also takes care of that through His Spirit. Oh, how He is a loving God.
