Matthew 28:20
[Jesus said] “Surely I am with you always until the end of the age.”
Dear Lord Jesus,
As we end another year, we thank you for this reminder that you will always be with us. With all that happens in our lives, being separated from family members, sickness, diseases, conflicts, and then there is the national and global stuff, we can start to feel lonely and depressed. You have given us this promise to be with us until the end of the age.
So, reflecting on the past year, we pray for forgiveness, which only comes from your suffering and death on that tree—the cross. Please forgive all our sins, and continue to send us your Holy Spirit to strengthen our faith in the coming year.
Consider the coming year; we pray for your sustainment of the faith for all your believers. Also, give each of us the courage to share the good news of your salvation with those who do not know your love and mercy. We pray that you will use us to share your word, touching and changing hearts to repent and desire your forgiveness. So that through faith, they, too, will know you are always with them. Regardless of challenges happening at home or abroad, please guide us by your promise that you will be with us to the end of the age. Amen

Sins turn us away from God, but repentance turns us back to the cross and Christ; at the cross, you receive his complete pardon for all your sins, and you are restored to God. Can we ever meditate and return too often to God’s love?
