Psalm 103:1-5
Bless the Lord, O my soul. All that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and do not forget all his benefits—who pardons all your guilt, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with mercy and compassion, who satisfies your life with goodness, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
Dear Heavenly Father,
When someone does something nice and unexpected for us, we should show our appreciation by saying thank you and offering them warm wishes for what they did. So, thank you, especially for all you have done for us.
We are by nature sinful beings; sin entered the world by Adam, and being his descendants, everyone has been born in his sinful likeness. Everyone is plagued with sin, and not one is innocent. John wrote, “If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.”
We bless and thank you for not leaving us in our sinful state. By faith in you, we receive the forgiveness Jesus won for us upon the cross, as he suffered and died for all our sins. You pardoned us for our sins, for Jesus’ sake. He bought us back from sins’ bondage with his precious blood as the price. In his death, we are forgiven, our sins are removed, and we have eternal life through Christ.
When we take our final breaths, please restore us to heaven so we will be renewed like eagles. While we wait for that final day, grant us opportunities to share the good news of your love and mercy with those who do not know you so that faith will begin in them, they will know you through Jesus, and have confidence knowing Jesus has forgiven them; in his forgiveness grant them salvation and eternal life. Amen.
