Philippians 1:6
I am convinced of this very thing: that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank you for the faith that your Holy Spirit has instilled in us. For all who trust in you, you have established your promise of sustaining us until the last day, when Jesus comes again in all his glory. Your will is for all people to come to know you and have eternal rest in heaven.
However, faith is not forced upon anyone; we are not robots who do your bidding; we are free to trust in whatever we trust. However, our sinful nature works against Your will, desiring to pull us away from You; You established Your plan of salvation to restore us to You. You sent your Son to suffer the punishment for all our sins. Jesus removed every sin that separates the world from you so that by believing in Him, we have salvation, which leads to eternal life. So we pray that you send us your Holy Spirit so we are confident of the forgiveness that comes through your Word.
We pray for the sustainment of our faith. For all who know you, we pray that you will continue to sustain our faith and carry it out until Christ comes again. For those who do not know you, please use us to share your grace and mercy with them—the forgiveness of sins and your love for them. Please begin a good work in them so they will have faith in your Son. Amen.

Faith in God is voluntary; no one is forced to do so, but the gift is given to all. Those who refuse God’s gift of love, he honors their request to be separated from him. For those who receive that gift of love and forgiveness and believe in Jesus, He gives them salvation and eternal life.
