Hebrews 1:1-2
In the past, God spoke to our forefathers by the prophets at many times and in many ways. In these last days, he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.
Dear Heavenly Father,
You have always spoken clearly throughout the ages, giving us your will. Why? Because you are a sinless, perfect God, and people’s sins drive them from you. So you established your plan of salvation recorded by the Old Testament prophets and fulfilled by your Son, our Savior. It has been your will that all people would know and trust in you and have eternal life—the reason you created us.
However, you did not make people like robots who are programmed to follow you blindly. Your plan was this: to send your Son in these last days to restore all fallen humans and unite us with you as Adam and Eve once were. Jesus brought salvation to us by becoming human and taking on flesh and blood, living under the law perfectly, suffering in our place for all our sins, and rising from the dead so that all who believe in him will also have eternal life.
You remind us that Jesus created all the universe; since he made everything, he also knew how to restore it and us. We pray that you will forgive our every sin for Jesus’ sake; after all, in his words from the cross, he asked you to forgive us because we did not know what we were doing. In the beginning, Jesus created the universe with his words, and then, from the cross, he restored it.
Let us share the good news of your will for people that through faith in Jesus, you bring eternal life to all who believe. Amen.

God does not change. He wants you to know the salvation promised in the Old Testament and the forgiveness Jesus won on the cross for you. So that by believing in him, you have eternal life.
