Psalm 31:1-5
In you, Lord, I have taken refuge. Let me never be put to shame. In your righteousness, deliver me. Turn your ear toward me. Hurry! Rescue me! Be a rock where I take refuge, a fortified place that saves me. Yes, you are my rocky cliff and my stronghold. For the sake of your name, you will lead me and guide me. You will pull me out of the net that they hid for me, because you are my refuge. Into your hand I commit my spirit. You have redeemed me, O Lord, the God of truth.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We run to you for your protection and blessing in all our challenges. When hurdles seem too high, we know you can lift us over them, so we take refuge in you.
Our most significant problem is our sin; we cannot be in your presence because you are holy and perfect. Still, it is through your divine attributes that you have delivered us all. Your plan of salvation was sending your Son to live a perfect life of love, to suffer at men’s hands, then die for all our sins on the cross, and three days later rise from the dead. Your plan of salvation is our stronghold, that rocky cliff where nothing can harm us; by faith, believers receive your gifts of salvation and eternal life.
So, we follow you by faith, and we pray with David that you lead and guide us all the days of our lives so that all the hidden obstacles the world puts in our paths to destroy our faith, you protect us and pull us out.
Please receive our spirits for Jesus’ sake. He has redeemed us as lost and condemned creatures, purchased and won us from sin, death, and the devil by his holy, precious blood. All this you have done for us out of your love that we can be sure of our salvation. Therefore, let us react to your love for us by sharing the good news of your protection with all we encounter so they will know and trust your love for us all. Amen.

God’s love is that fortified refuge; he demonstrated his love by sending his only-begotten Son to protect all so that by believing in him, we are saved. Place your confidence in him, knowing he will bring about a result that will strengthen your faith. Take refuge in your Lord.
