Luke 21:25-28
“There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars. And on the earth, nations will be in anguish, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the surging waves, people fainting from fear and expectation of the things coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. But when these things begin to happen, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near.”
Dear Heavenly Father,
Many people miss knowing who You are; they miss knowing the love, mercy, and grace You have for them, but the end of times will come, and no one will overlook it. When You are ready for that final day, there will be no speculation as to whether or not this might be the end. All that is happening around us are signs to let us know that each day is one day closer to the end. You have instructed us how to prepare in Your Word: “Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand.”
No one knows or can even speculate on the exact end date, but you promised it would come. You sent Your Son to redeem and restore all mankind from this impending fate of our world. Jesus redeemed us when he suffered on the cross for all sins. The last day will terrify those who continue rejecting Him and Your love and mercy. Unbelievers will hide in every crevasse they can find to flee from Jesus because it will be horrifying to see and know Your judgment that is coming for all who reject You.
However, all who believe and trust in Jesus as their Savior stand confidently, knowing he went to the cross to pay the world’s sin debt. As Jesus said, “Stand up and lift up your hands.” As the trumpet sounds and he comes, we will be changed in a moment and given our glorified bodies. The redemption is near, and all believers of every generation will be restored to you, abiding with you in heaven for the rest of eternity.
As that day gets closer, believers have much work to do. Many around us do not believe in you or Jesus. We pray that You will give us a sense of urgency and confidence to share the good news of Your love and forgiveness with all who do not believe in You. Please send Your Holy Spirit to work in their hearts as we share with them Your gospel message. Amen.

The end will come, whether from our first death or Jesus’ second coming. You prepare by knowing, believing, and trusting that Jesus has forgiven all your sins; hear his words: “Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand.”
