Time for Grace – April 10, 2025

1 Corinthians 10:12-13

So let him who thinks he stands be careful that he does not fall. No testing has overtaken you except ordinary testing. But God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tested beyond your ability, but when he tests you, he will also bring about the outcome that you are able to bear it.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Motivated by the Holy Spirit, Paul’s message acts as a caution for those who view themselves as exceptionally faithful, thinking, “I could never do that!” They evaluate themselves as superior to others who have fallen into grave temptations.

We are all influenced by the sin that began at our conception. While our parents imparted values and morals, we still experience guilt for our transgressions and are capable of committing dreadful acts; this often occurs within our minds, making us just as guilty, as Jesus pointed out. Isolation will not shield us from failure, nor can we face temptations in solitude. You created us as social beings, meant to support each other throughout life.

You have also promised to remain faithful to us and ensure we are not tested beyond our capacity. This doesn’t imply that you will eliminate every temptation we face, but you offer a means of escape. When we do give in to those temptations, you have also provided us with your Son. He sacrificed his holy, perfect, and innocent soul as the redemption for our sin-laden souls, so that all our sins are removed as far as the east is from the west.

Your love doesn’t permit us to sin more simply because we’re forgiven; rather, it offers a way to acknowledge our sins and understand that we receive forgiveness through Jesus. We surrender all our sins at the foot of His cross and ask for Your forgiveness today. Please grant us Your grace and mercy to absolve all the sins within our hearts.

May your love inspire us to extend compassion to others, as you have demonstrated; let us convey the assurance that you have forgiven their sins. Help them lean on you instead of relying on their own understanding, and grant them complete forgiveness for all their transgressions. Amen.

None of us live up to God’s glory, and we all have the capacity to sin; yet this does not diminish God’s love for you. You are the reason He sent His Son to save you from your sins. Place your trust in God, who has redeemed you from the devil through the precious blood of Jesus.
