Time for Grace – May 3, 2025

Psalm 28:8-9

The Lord is their strength. He is a stronghold of salvation for his anointed king. Save your people, and bless the people that belong to you. Shepherd them, and carry them forever.

Dear Lord Jesus,

It is no secret that we are sheep who like to wander; when left to our devices, we may find ourselves in all kinds of trouble. We often satisfy our sinful desires with things that seem appealing, but in the end, they lead to eternal death. We can be very unloving toward others and do whatever our pride desires. Even when you and others try to love us, our sins can harden our hearts against your and their love.

You are the Good Shepherd of all people who believe and trust in You. You willingly laid down Your life; even though You were innocent, You suffered the penalty for our sins. You restored us to the good favor of the Father. Lord, You forgave all our sins and blessed us.

In Your resurrection, You defeated death for us, providing us with the stronghold of salvation—You. Because of Your resurrection, we know that Your payment for our sins was completed, so all who believe and trust in You receive the gift of salvation and eternal life. You have saved us all through Your work as true God and man.

Lord, You give believers places of worship to hear Your word. Through the sound preaching of the under-shepherds You have placed in those pulpits, we are reminded of how You are our Good Shepherd and lead Your flock to greener pastures and still waters. Please restore my soul to You. As we come together as part of Your flock, we pray that You will never leave us; please shepherd and carry us forever. Moreover, because of what you have done in restoring us to the Father’s good grace, please grant us the boldness to share this good news with others who are not yet part of your flock. Amen.

God demonstrated His strength and power; Jesus did not come to judge or condemn the world, but to bless and forgive. Jesus has forgiven all sins. His forgiveness is yours through faith in Him.
