Time for Grace – June 4, 2025

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting, and for training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, well equipped for every good work.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for giving us Your Word. It can profoundly impact a person and lead to monumental changes in their lives.

Much of the world faces various challenges presented by life: family issues, health problems, diseases, angry individuals, unfairness, judgments, and countless other troubles that create chaos in our lives. However, the worst of these challenges is that our lives ultimately end in death. In Your Word, You explain how all worldly problems originated from our first parents’ fall into sin. Sin has corrupted the world and those around us, bringing the curse of death upon us.

Your Word reveals Your will for people, guiding us on how to love others perfectly and showing us how to love You. When we fall short of perfect love, we sin. We could easily throw up our hands and say, “Well, everyone does it,” or “Nobody is perfect.” While these statements are true, Your Word assures us that we are not alone in this. It teaches us how You sent Your Son to live the perfect life in our place, and then He willingly went to the cross to suffer the punishment for each of our sins so that by faith in Jesus, we are restored to You. Paul tells us in Romans, “Where sin increased, grace overflowed much more.” Therefore, there is no sin we can commit that You will not forgive, except for blasphemy against the Holy Spirit—rejecting faith. It is in the forgiveness of all our sins that we are made right with You. Nothing can separate us from Your love.

You remind us here in Paul’s letter to Timothy that through our being made right with You, we are equipped for every good work. Equip us with the courage to share Your forgiveness, love, mercy, the joy of heaven, and the promise of salvation with one soul who does not know You; may Your Spirit work in their heart and create a monumental change so that they will know, trust, and believe in You, and attain eternal life. Amen.

It is God’s Word. Yes, He used sinful men to write it, but He made His will known for you to have eternal life. God loves you so dearly that He sent His one and only Son to die for you so that you can be saved by faith in Jesus. This is God’s Word!
