Time for Grace – August 16, 2025

Psalm 139:13-14

For you created my inner organs. You wove me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, and my soul knows that very well.

Applying God’s word to our lives today: Our bodies are remarkable in how the different systems work together to function—moving us from one place to another, communicating with others, enjoying sights and sounds, feeling hot, cold, or soft, and tasting different things. While we enjoy all these sensations, researchers are still mapping out how amazingly the body is woven together and how our organs work collectively.

Have you ever wondered why we face many challenges in life? As wonderful as life can be, we still experience troubles and trials, and sometimes we ask, “why,” feeling overwhelmed. These struggles come from sin in the world and in our lives. God created us so that we are fearfully and wonderfully made, but He did not create sin. You are incredibly valuable to God, which is why He made salvation available to everyone who believes in His Son, because each of us matters to Him. God sent His Son to address the problem of sin and death in the world and to bring you back to Himself. Our sins separated us from His presence, so Jesus took all our sins into Himself, suffered our punishment, died on the cross for us, and then rose from the dead. Through believing in Him, you receive eternal life.

While we may not fully understand ourselves, God knows and loves us; He desires all people to be with Him in heaven. Praise Him for the gifts He has given so that those who do not know Him may learn about their Creator, trust in Him, and receive eternal life.

Dear Lord, Thank You for creating us as You have made us. Be with those around us who struggle with their self-image; guide them to see how truly valuable they are because You love them, and may those who are troubled come to know You. Forgive me when I judge others as less important than myself; instead, may I humbly share Your love with them because their souls matter so much to You. Be with me to love those around me as I love myself, and may I share Your love with one person today. Amen.

The more detail an artist adds to their work, the more it displays their passion for what they’ve created. We are still learning about the human body and its most intricate details.
