Matthew 11:28-30
[Jesus said] “Come to me all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Dear Lord Jesus,
We come to you today for your rest. The burden of what we have done or said weighs our consciences, leaving us with guilt and shame for decisions we made when we were much younger, and we regret what we did in our yesterdays. When that is not enough, we continue to be burdened with what we failed to do or what we should have said.
Therefore, we come before you to learn from you today as you have taught us. You came here as our Savior, and in your word, we witnessed you taking the infirmities, sickness, and diseases into yourself. So, we pray that you remove all our sins and lift all our regrets, shame, and guilt from us. In your Word, we hear how you suffered for our sins and endured our punishment so that we would be restored to the peace of your Father. We are not on our own, and all the sins of our past that haunt us you have taken into yourself and hung with you on the cross—that was the custom-made yoke you chose to link yourself with us. By the cross, we have the gifts of forgiveness and peace that come to us by trusting in you, so please send us your Holy Spirit to bring us the faith we need.
Finally, we thank you, Lord, for the love and mercy you have displayed to us by taking all our sins from us, and in place of condemnation, you give us eternal life. Let our reaction be this: we share the good news of your love and forgiveness with those who do not know you so they, too, will have faith, which leads to eternal life. Amen.

God the Son has this gift of forgiveness and peace he wants to give to you; it is yours by faith alone by believing in him as your Savior, and it is without a price for you because he already paid it in total, and there are no strings attached.
