Hebrews 13:14

For we do not have a permanent city here, but we are looking for the city that is coming.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We have been placed on this earth to wander here until our time is ended, but our wandering is not pointless. We have been given three tasks, one you would have all people be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. So, this is step one; we must come to know you. Your Spirit creates faith; we all come to know you through hearing your word and regular use of the sacraments. Through faith in our hearts, we are more than devils (for they also know you), but we fear and trust you. We believe that Jesus died on the cross to rescue us from all our sins. Step two goes along with step one; share our faith with others. This is how we came to believe when you directed someone to share the good news of your love with us, we were able to go through step one. Through your Spirit’s guidance, we share our faith with others. Step three is we finally make it our eternal home, to be with you. Everything you have given us here on the earth supports these three steps. We do not wander around here aimlessly, but we do the good works you had established from the beginning for us to do at the appropriate time. All of these steps are very important, so thank you for sending your Spirit to be with us all the way. Lord, thank you for giving us your word and preparing our place for us. Amen.
