Psalm 103:11-13

Yes, as high as the heavens are above the earth, so powerful is his mercy toward those who fear him. As distant as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our rebellious acts from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for being our loving and compassionate Father. For sending your Son to take on this tremendous load of our sins. In your great mercy, you have removed the sins of all people, but that gift is only received through faith in Jesus. There you have removed our sins as far as the east is from the west. No matter how great our sins were, you have forgiveness for those sins. Jesus came into this world as both true God and true man to undo all the tangled mess of our sins. It is our sins the separate us from you, our undoing. Yet it is Jesus’ death that restores us to you a finite problem that requires an infinite solution. Thank you for sending us your Spirit to create our faith to believe in the forgiveness Jesus has won for us. Please grant us opportunities to share abundant mercy with those who do not know of your love and compassion. Amen
