Colossians 1:11-14

You are being strengthened with all power because of his glorious might working in you. Then you will have complete endurance and patience, joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. The Father rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We pray for endurance and patience in the course you have laid out for us. Each day we face new challenges and struggles; looking at the mountains before us, we wonder how we will make it over. Thank you for working in us and providing all the physical and spiritual stamina to make it through our day. Paul tells us why we do this day after day. It is so that we get to share in the inheritance you set before us. This is not something we could do on our own, but you qualified us through Christ your Son. You sent your Son to rescue us from all our sins; Jesus pulled us from the darkness. That first Good Friday, he willingly suffered our punishment in the courts of the Jews and Romans and then suffered on the cross for our sins. Jesus gave his life on the cross to defeat death for us, and there he transferred us into the kingdom of light. Those who believe in Jesus believe in you. Through faith, we are delivered into the kingdom of your Son. He credits us with His righteousness and declares us not guilty; for Jesus’ sake, sin no longer separates us from you. Thank you for giving us the endurance we need to run today’s leg of our race. Amen.

Redemption and forgiveness of all your sins are already paid for in Christ; there is no need to worry and carry your sins’ guilt. Jesus has forgiven them; salvation and eternal life are yours.
