Colossians 1:11-14
You are being strengthened with all power because of his glorious might working in you. Then you will have complete endurance and patience, joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. The Father rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank you for rescuing us from the domain of darkness. This world is dark with all its sins, and before faith, we were trapped with no hope of ever getting out. Without faith, a person can do nothing, and John recorded Jesus’ words, “they are condemned already.” But you sent us your Son; this was your plan of salvation, moving us from this world of darkness into his kingdom. Jesus came here taking on human flesh, lived the perfect life, and suffered an innocent death in our place. It is faith alone that qualifies us to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. None of our works qualify us; instead, it was the object of our faith that qualified us. Faith—which the Holy Spirit began in us—focused on our Savior and his work. That is saving faith that removes our sins forever and restores us to you. Lord, with great joy, we say thank you for making all this possible. Let our response be to share our salvation with others who do not know you; let them also be rescued from the domain of darkness and transferred into the kingdom of the Son; please redeem them also. Amen.

Forgiveness, we often assume, shows weakness. However, God demonstrated that forgiveness is the most powerful thing; Jesus’ forgiveness transferred you from the pathway to hell to his kingdom and made you heirs.
