Psalm 119:130

The doorway to your words lets in light. It gives understanding to the inexperienced.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for these marvelous words this morning to meditate upon. We struggle in this world and, on our own, feel like we are stumbling through this life of random chaos; however, that is far from the truth. The devil, this sinful world, and a person’s sin bring disarray, resulting in that chaotic attack of disease and sickness—cells gone wild in our bodies. Also, we have relationship challenges with one another because things are not done our way, and we get frustrated and angry when people do not love us the way we want. Or when people are horrible to us and treat us with disdain, not love us. So we suffer in our guilt for the dreadful things we have done or feel the effects of being unloved by how others have treated us.

These words tell us so much that they let light into this dark, sinful world. You sent your Son to redeem and restore the world; your Word tells us so. First, it shows us all our sins; we must admit that none of us is perfect. You don’t end there; instead, you who are perfect loved us who are not. You came up with Your plan of salvation to restore us to You. Jesus lived his life without sin, then willingly went to the cross to suffer in our place, for all the times when we do not love others. When we feel the hate from the world, Jesus hung with arms wide open to receive all who believe in him. He said he was the way, the truth, and the life. To those who do not know you, you have made it very easy to understand that no one will ever work their way to salvation; Jesus paid the ultimate price; he died for us. Whoever believes in him will never perish but have everlasting life.

Lord, we pray today that your Word would change hearts around us to be willing to hear the good news, how Jesus let your light in to restore this chaotic world. Let us reflect that light shining through your doorway—Jesus—that we love those around us as you have loved us. Amen.
