Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank you for never changing, and we see your changelessness in your love. While we see change all around us, and so much chaos occurs because of sin. Ever since humanity fell into sin, we have needed your salvation. Our sins cause a separation between you and us; they push us away from you. This division brings us only suffering and condemnation; what we deserve is only to be sentenced to eternal death. Because of sin’s plight, you knew we were doomed, so you came to your created world out of love and became like us in every way but without sin. Lord, you are love! Your creation plan was for us to live with you forever, but when sin caused the divide, you went to the cross to restore us to you. This gift of life comes to us through faith, and you sent your Holy Spirit to begin faith in us to believe what you have done for us. Just as you have always kept people by your love through all these centuries, we are confident that you will continue to sustain us until you return. Lord, thank you for never changing. So many around us are tossed about by this changing world and have nothing consistent. Please give us opportunities to share with them the hope that comes from you and how you will never change. Amen.
