Time for Grace-June 24, 2024

1 Peter 5:6-11

Therefore humble yourselves under God’s powerful hand so that he may lift you up at the appointed time. Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you. Have sound judgment. Be alert. Your adversary, the Devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Resist him by being firm in the faith. You know that the same kinds of sufferings are being laid on your brotherhood all over the world. After you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who called you into his eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will himself restore, establish, strengthen, and support you. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we go through this life, we will inevitably experience suffering, anxiety, and fears. We know that our adversary prowls around, seeking to devour us. We thank You for the protection You provide for us daily and the care that You show us. May we never fall into the snare of the devil.

Let us always be comforted in knowing that we can cast all our anxieties on You and guide our hearts and minds to be firm in this faith You have given us. Lord, please be with all of our brothers and sisters who face suffering, persecution, disease, and the results of sin in this world. Strengthen them with the Gospel message of salvation won for us by Christ’s death on the cross, whereby He paid for all our sins. Let us always rejoice in our hope of salvation, knowing that after we have suffered a little while on the earth, the God of all grace, who has called us into His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, will restore, establish, strengthen, and support us.

Be with us in all our trials and needs, and strengthen our faith to trust in You through all adversity. Give us the courage to share our faith with those who do not know you so that they, too, might cast all their cares on you. To You alone be the glory, forever and ever. Amen.

God has let us know in advance we are going to face trial and the Devil is looking to destroy us. So that no matter what comes our way, we can confidently trust our Savior to deliver us from all adversity just as he has already delivered us from our sins.
