1 Corinthians 10:13

No testing has overtaken you except ordinary testing. But God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tested beyond your ability, but when he tests you, he will also bring about the outcome that you are able to bear it.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We do not go through our lives without testing, even as believers. There is this thought that because we trust in you, there will never be a problem. The world likes to point to our tests and assert them as proof there is no God and that all things randomly happen, both good and bad. Those who fail to believe in you then have no reason to be so concerned over an idea others made up.

However, as Paul wrote, you are faithful to us; you limit the challenges of the world that come our way. At times in our lives, events might seem pretty horrific, but we don’t realize how bad it would have been without you limiting those testing times. You are faithful to us, and as Paul wrote, the extreme sense of those tests helps us to realize how strong we are; they also build our resolve. You tell us in your Word that you will not allow something beyond what we can bear.

We pray that you will be faithful to us today, as promised in your Word. Give us the confidence to know you are with us no matter what we might face. Let us be confident of your love, which you already demonstrated by sending your Son to redeem us of all our sins. Jesus’ suffering and death demonstrated your love for us, and you have restored us to you.

Let our response to your faithfulness be that we, too, are faithful in return; that we share the good news of your care for us with others who are enduring trials so that they will know their Savior Jesus and the love you have for them. We ask that you begin faith in them and restore them to you. Amen.

Troubles do not come from God but from an evil world that wants to destroy faith, but God limits every attack they level against you. God knows what you can endure, even when it seems too great. Focus on the One who saves you from all your problems, not on the problem.
