Job 5:17
Consider this: How blessed is the man whom God corrects! Do not reject the discipline of the Almighty!
Dear Heavenly Father,
We are constantly tempted; when one temptation is done, another soon follows. Satan would have nothing more than to have us reject you so that we would be condemned with him for eternity. We live in a sinful world where so many things around us would draw us from you, and our sinful desires find those things intriguing and, at times, irresistible.
You have redeemed us by your Son’s holy life and innocent death on the cross; by faith in Jesus, we know we are forgiven of all our sins. Moreover, you do not leave us in our temptations or sins; you have given us a conscience to know right from wrong, your word to tell us your will, and you allow things to come in our direction when we continue down a faithless path. Because of your love for us, you correct us when we act unloving towards you and others; you allow us to be disciplined because of our actions.
We pray that you will forgive us for everything we have done for Jesus’ sake, according to his love and mercy. Please let us see your discipline and receive it with thanksgiving, knowing you love us so much that you do not want to see us condemned for eternity. You are ready to do whatever it takes to turn us back to you. We ask that you please keep us in your tender care and do whatever it takes so that we remain in faith. Thank you for correcting and disciplining us as our heavenly Father. Amen.

God loves you so much that he saved you from all your sins and then does whatever it takes to keep you in your faith. Realize God’s correction and discipline are out of love for you; he wants you to be with him forever.
