Psalm 27:13-14
Unless I was confident to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living—Wait for the Lord. Be strong and, take heart, and wait for the Lord!
Dear Heavenly Father,
We remember David’s trials and troubles recorded throughout his life, and our challenges seem pale compared to his, but our problems are just as real as his. We struggle! If our problems are not from outside us, we have other issues that come from inside us, like sickness, disease, the aging process, and let’s not forget our sins. Sins cause our consciences to react to what we have done or others have done to us, causing guilt and shame. We are a mess without you.
However, faith changes all that. Faith in you brings us out of this vale of tears into heaven, into the land of the living. While we are still here on earth, we can be confident in the forgiveness Jesus won for us on the cross. As if we are already home with you in heaven, we add nothing to our salvation; it comes to us by faith alone in your Son, our Savior.
While we are here, the world may rail against us, and we may struggle in this life, but we wait patiently in you, knowing that you are always beside us. We ask you to strengthen our faith so we are confident in you and will patiently wait for that last day to come when you will take us to be with you forever.
While we wait, please provide us with work to do to share the good news of the confident hope we have in you, knowing we will one day be in heaven. Let us share this message with others so they will, through faith, also wait in You. Amen.
