Psalm 121:7-8
The Lord will watch to keep you from all harm. He will watch over your life. The Lord will watch over your going and your coming from now to eternity.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for continuously watching over us and keeping us from harm. There are times when problems come our way; it does not mean you have stopped caring for us or taken your gaze off us, but you allow those things to occur while limiting their impact on us. It is during those times that we need to come to you.
There could be many reasons why those events and health challenges occur. Sometimes, you allow them to discipline us because of our drifting toward the world’s ways or even unfaithfulness. Other times, you allow challenges to occur so your believers have an audience with unbelievers, so through the believer’s actions, we can share our faith. Other times, you teach us new things and allow us to endure bumps. You limit everything that comes our direction and, more importantly, do all that is necessary to protect our souls.
Your will is for all people to come to know and trust you. You provided and made salvation available for everyone—Jesus died on the cross for the sins of the entire world—so that no one has a reason for not being saved. Salvation is not forced; it comes to each person through faith in Jesus, and yet some reject your love. However, faith receives your gifts of forgiveness, redemption, and eternal life; as gifts, they are free with nothing that comes from us.
Please forgive us all our sins, watch over us, guard our hearts, protect us according to your love and mercy, and keep us in your care. Please turn us from all sinful ways and direct us to the cross so our faith clings to Jesus. Have mercy upon us according to your love and for Jesus’ sake. Strengthen our faith in you, that out of love for you, we will boldly share how you carefully watch over us with others. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

Watching a child’s first steps, they are allowed to fall; it doesn’t mean they aren’t being watched, nor does it mean they aren’t loved. At the same time, children are kept from crawling from places where they could be hurt. God is the same with you.
