Colossians 1:11-14

You are being strengthened with all power because of his glorious might working in you. Then you will have complete endurance and patience, joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. The Father rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Please give us complete endurance and patience like the Colossians. We live in a very turbulent time, and we ask for endurance to sustain ourselves until the end of our lives. In everything we face, may we remember to give thanks in every situation because many are beyond our control; the only way to see our way through them is with you. As Paul wrote, we have all come out of the domain of darkness where the world dwells and holds onto their sins like badges of accomplishment.

Your plan of salvation was to lift us out of the domain of darkness. It is for all people and is only possible through faith in your Son, our Savior, Jesus. Because Jesus took all our disobedience into himself, he suffered the punishment meant for us. His innocent suffering and death have brought all who believe in him into the domain of light, which is in him. There, we have been redeemed and forgiven all our sins.

We thank you for all the blessings of salvation you gave us. Let us respond by sharing the good news of your forgiveness of sins with those who do not know you. Let them see the glorious work you have done for them. May they also have patient endurance to the ends of their lives so that in the end, they, too, will give thanks for the salvation you have delivered to all who believe in Jesus. Amen.
