Psalm 5:11-12
But let all who take refuge in you be glad. Let them sing for joy forever. You cover them with protection, so those who love your name rejoice in you. Yes, you bless the righteous, Lord. You surround them with your favor as a shield.
Dear Heavenly Father,
It is no secret that this world is hostile toward you and all who trust in you. It is filled with anger and darkness and lacks the peace that only you bring. It has been infested with sin since our first parents fell into it and will remain so until your Son returns.
So we pray for the protection you have promised us in your Word as we run to you for cover, knowing you will protect us when the world tries to bring us down. Moreover, not only the world but also our thoughts and desires challenge us, and while sin remains in this world, temptations regularly confront us.
Yet, we know and trust that Jesus has redeemed us from our sins. He suffered on the cross for all our sins, died in our place, and then rose from the dead to defeat death for us. By faith, we know that those who trust in you have eternal life when this life ends. If you have gone to such significant lengths to remove our sins and save our souls, we can be confident that you will also watch over and protect us in this life. Should you allow this life to close early, we confidently know we will be with you in heaven forever.
So we can boldly ask you to wrap your love around us and protect us like a shield. Let us share your protection with those who do not know you. Let us share your loving care with them so they know your forgiveness and all your Son endured to set them free from their sins. Let them confidently trust you to be their protection and shield in the face of danger. Please watch over them so that they will know your love. Amen.

When the creator of the universe provides you protection and is a shield for you, what is left to fear? By faith—knowing and trusting in Jesus—you are protected from all dangers that could potentially destroy you eternally.
