1 Corinthians 1:18
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for helping us understand the message of the cross, as we cannot attain the glory of heaven without going through it. Many people desire a better life now and want to avoid suffering or trouble. They chase whatever seems attractive in the present and are willing to do whatever it takes to obtain it. They ask, “Why would we want to endure suffering or trust in someone who died on a cross?”
Because the one who died on the cross was no ordinary man – he was your Son. Jesus suffered to make a complete payment for all our sins. Through faith, we receive your gift of salvation and are restored to you. People reject faith because they believe it cannot be that simple, thinking they must do something to atone for their actions.
But it is that simple! That cross was your instrument of torture to atone for the world’s sins; you sent your Son because he was the only one who could bear the cross to pay for our sins. Your power was evident in Jesus’ suffering and death, through which he redeemed us with his blood. Thus, Jesus gave his life only to take it up again three days later in His resurrection, so that all who believe would also receive their crown of glory through the cross.
Lord, many believe that the message of the cross is foolishness, and you tell us they will perish if they do not hear the truth. We pray that you create opportunities to build relationships with them so we can share the message of the cross with all who do not believe in you. Amen.

Jesus’ blood and forgiveness cleanse all your sins; this is powerful because nothing else can remove the stains of sin.
