Revelation 1:8
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, the one who is, and who was, and who is coming, the Almighty.
Dear Lord Jesus,
In a constantly changing and chaotic world, you remain the constant. You reminded John in his vision that you were present from the very beginning when the world began and will remain until it runs its course to the end. You did not create the world in chaos but rather according to an orderly system of laws that allow the earth and the entire universe to be sustained.
However, the chaos of sin entered the world when our first parents succumbed to Satan’s temptations. In their desire to be like you, they ate the forbidden fruit, resulting in humanity falling under the curse of sin. We are all guilty alongside them through our own sins of words, actions, and even thoughts.
We cling to past sins, guilt, shame, and grudges from years ago, finding it difficult to release that pain. We worry about what tomorrow will bring. Will we be able to cope with everything that is happening? “What if tomorrow brings…?” We retreat into our shell of worry, reluctant to let anyone know the concerns that hold us hostage. As a result of yesterday’s guilt and tomorrow’s worries, we fail to see your love for us now.
You have defeated all the sins of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. You went to the cross and triumphed over sin, so there is nothing to cling to from yesterday’s guilt and shame. You are our loving and wonderful God; no matter what tomorrow may bring, you promise to be with us. As you once said, let tomorrow take care of itself. Because at this very moment, you are by our side, having forgiven all our sins. The greatest news is that you are unchanging; the faith we have to trust and hold onto you today will remain steadfast tomorrow.
Let us share your unwavering love for humanity with those who do not know you. We pray that they will come to know your love, trusting that you have forgiven all their sins and that they can rely on you to never feel alone in this chaotic world. Amen.

God, the beginning and the end, shows that He is present in the in-between. When you have faith in God, you can be assured that just as He has removed all your sins through Jesus’ death on the cross, He will also be with you in your troubles and hardships today.
