Time for Grace – May 24, 2025

2 Timothy 4:18

The Lord will rescue me from every evil work and will bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.

Dear Heavenly Father,

There are two types of people in the world: those who love You and those who hate You. Many hate You because they do not know You; they reject Your love and goodness. Raised to mistrust You and Your believers, they perceive You as hateful. They don’t want to be held accountable for their actions. Others hate You because they have been hurt by false teachers who led them into despair, working for their salvation and overwhelmed by the burdens imposed on them by those charlatans.

Yet, Your desire is for all people to know who You truly are, and Paul’s letter to Timothy helps our understanding. You will rescue us from every evil work. No matter what the world throws at us, You will save us; even if they take our lives, we are still rescued because when a believer’s life ends, You bring them into Your heavenly kingdom.

Through faith in Your Son, Jesus, we receive forgiveness for our sins. He lived a perfect life and grants us His perfection. He then suffered and died on the cross to bear the punishment for all our sins; our debt is paid. All of this was done out of love for us, and Paul reminds us that it is a free gift, not based on any works from us, but comes through faith alone. He addressed those who were hurt by false teachers who believe their earthly performance contributes to their salvation. You offer everyone a complete pardon for their sins, and in that forgiveness, we find the peace of salvation and the glory of heaven.

Therefore, if this life should end unexpectedly at the hands of the world, we will be with You, and we thank You for bringing us home sooner than we anticipated. Let us share the gift of Your love, mercy, and grace with those who do not know You or who have been hurt by the world. May they return to You in faith so they may know Jesus as their Savior and safely enter Your heavenly kingdom. Amen.

God’s love is meant for all people and is delivered to each through faith in Him. In His love, He wants you to know and trust that His Son paid the price for all your sins, so through faith alone in Jesus, you have eternal life.
