Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we should pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that are not expressed in words.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for providing for us when weaknesses challenge us; You also told us Your grace is made perfect in our weakness. Sin is our greatest weakness! It places a wedge between us and You; without Your help, sin would cause us to be entirely separated from You. But You desire all people to come to know You and Your love for us. So to remove that wedge, you sent Your Son to take the world’s sins into himself, and then becoming sin for us, he endured our punishment on the cross. So through faith, we know what Jesus has done for us and have the peace of His forgiveness. So when sin raises its ugly head and causes us problems so monumental that we do not know what to ask for, you have already sent your Spirit to dwell in us through faith, and He intercedes for us. So even though we have faith, we are still sinners dealing with the world and its temptations. Your Spirit, who dwells within us, also intercedes according to your good and perfect will, making his intercession on our behalf.
Lord, it is no secret that we often pray according to our heart’s desires in our weakness. So we thank you for having the “inside operator” in our hearts, knowing what we need, even when we don’t. So if it is according to Your will, we pray for opportunities to share Your love and forgiveness with those who still do not know You; so that Your Spirit can reside in them and pray on their behalf when they are unsure what, where, or how to ask their prayer. Thank you for assuring us of your wisdom in our weakness. Amen.

Since the fall into sin, our desires and will are no longer one with God, but he has placed the Holy Spirit in us who knows and is united with the Father; He prays for you and your salvation, knowing what is best for you according to God’s will.
