Revelation 1:8
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, the one who is, and who was, and who is coming, the Almighty.
Dear Lord Jesus,
With all the chaos in the world, we look to you, the one who is with us in all that happens around us. As the Alpha, you created the universe and our world and made us for this purpose: to be with you and to receive your love. In the beginning, you created everything as being very good—perfect. Moreover, as the Omega, you will come again and bring all we see around us to its finality.
You created the world in perfection and not chaos, but through humanity’s fall into sin and our pride in wanting to be like you, sin quickly entered the world and brought all the disorder and turmoil with it. We cannot blame the world’s sin problem on Adam and Eve because we are just as much at fault as they were. Paul wrote to the Romans, reminding them, “There is none righteous, no not one.” We are all sinful, and without faith, no one can even see their sins; they think that somehow, they can save themselves if they appease the right god.
Salvation is delivered not by appeasing you or any god, but all are saved by faith in you. You did not leave us in our sins; you came into the world and took on human flesh to live among us. You brought perfection into this chaotic, sinful world to credit all who believe in you with your perfection. Then, you innocently went to the cross, taking all our sins with you and restoring this condemned fallen world. By believing in you, we are restored to the perfection Adam and Eve once had.
We look forward to your coming once again, when you will come with trumpets on the clouds, bringing this world to its end. Whoever believes in you will be saved, while those who reject you will remain condemned for eternity. Allow us to share you with those who do not know you so they trust you are the first and will be the last, and you remain in all who believe in you despite this chaotic world. Please make a change in their hearts so that they, too, will know and believe in you as their Lord and Savior. Amen.

Just as this world began one day, it will also end one day. Our lives will also come to an end for each of us; however, faith in Jesus’ salvific work restores us to eternal life in heaven, where we will be with God for eternity. Why? Because God loves you and wants you to be with him forever.
