Revelation 5: 11 – 14
And I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels who were around the throne and around the living creatures and the elders. Their number was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands upon thousands. With a loud voice they were saying: Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing. I also heard every creature that is in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, saying: To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever. The four living creatures said, “Amen,” and the elders bowed down and worshipped.
Dear Lord Jesus,
John’s vision of heaven is incredible and extraordinary. All the heavenly angels around Your throne were singing Your praises, alongside the elders, the living creatures, and everything throughout the universe praising You. The angels understood the tremendous price You paid to redeem us—Your innocent life and holy death. They sing Your praises for all You have done to save us. We might rightly ask: Why?
Because we frequently complain about what we have or lack, we notice the next shiny thing, and our sinful desires demand it immediately. We often succumb to our sinful cravings; it seems we fall short in blessing, honoring, glorifying, and fearing You as we should. Therefore, we ask for Your forgiveness.
You came to this earth to conquer sin, death, and the devil by willingly suffering and dying on the cross, and then rising from the grave. In Your victory, You have made it our victory, restoring and uniting us with You. Our sins reveal our weaknesses and show how desperately we need You as our Savior. Because of Your power and might, we will also witness and join this heavenly choir through faith, participating in those hymns of praise.
So please continue to strengthen our faith, keep us close to You, and let nothing separate us from Your hand. Also, allow us to share this vision of the heavenly choir with those who do not know You, so they may know and receive the joy that awaits them in heaven. May they receive the gift of salvation through faith in You. Amen.
