Psalm 19:14
May the speech from my mouth and the thoughts in my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Forgive us! We all need your forgiveness; sin creeps into our hearts even as believers, and we often lash out and react to lingering thoughts within us. The angry words that escape our lips stem from the anger, resentment, jealousy, and pride that begin in our hearts. The sinful urges we act upon arise from our often sinful, misguided desires for what we should not have.
Lord, we repent and ask for forgiveness so that what flows from our hearts and through our mouths pleases you. We recognize that we cannot do this alone; we need Jesus, who suffered and died for us, granting us forgiveness for all our sins. In Jesus’ death and resurrection, we are assured that our penalty for sin was paid in full, and he overcame death for us. Only through faith does Jesus live in us—faith that your Spirit ignited through your word. Lord, we seek your forgiveness and pray for transformed hearts.
We ask for your forgiveness, that you will not abandon us but be with us, so that through faith, we can let go of the anger in our hearts, granting us the strength and courage to forgive those around us, especially when our sinful desires cling to our selfishness and pride. Transform our hearts to recognize when we sin so we may embrace a new mindset of kind words, positive thoughts, and helpful actions.
Create new hearts within us so that we can exemplify your loving forgiveness to others, leading them to know you. Let this knowledge inspire their belief and trust in Jesus, allowing them to receive the forgiveness of sins that Jesus won for them, along with salvation and eternal life. Amen.

Jesus once said, “It is not what goes into a person that defiles them, but what comes from the heart.” A heart is changed only by faith—knowing and trusting in Jesus and the forgiveness he offers to everyone. So remember that Jesus has forgiven you.
